The first recipe is from Cheri
Shaker daily loaf
2 pack Fast-acting dry yeast
¼ cup Warm water
1 ¾ cup Milk
3 tablespoon Butter
2 tablespoon Sugar
2 teaspoon Salt
5 cup All-purpose flour
2 tablespoon Butter for greasing the bowl & top of dough; aboutThe Shakers had communal kitchens where all the food was prepared for each and every member. Generally they had a special baking room, and this kind of bread would be coming from the oven often. Dissolve the yeast in warm water in large mixing bowl. Warm the milk and melt the 3 tablespoons of butter in it. Stir in the sugar and salt and allow to cool to lukewarm. Add this to the yeast bowl along with 3 cups of the flour. Beat until smooth. (I do all of this in my KitchenAid.) Add the remaining flour and knead on a floured board or marble until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes, less time if you are using a dough hook on a good machine. Place the dough on a plastic counter and butter the top ofthe dough with half of the remaining butter. Cover the dough with a very large stainless-steel bowl and allow to rise untildouble in bulk. Punch down and shape into 2 loaves for large loafpans. Again brush the top ofthe dough and allow to rise to double in bulk. Bake at 400ø about 30 minutes.

Hamburger Bun Recipe (Bread)
5 1/2 -6 cups Flour
1/3 c. instant milk
1/3 c. shortening
1/4 c. Sugar
2 Tbsp. Yeast
11/2 tsp. Salt
2 c. Warm waterMix 2 c. flour with all dry ingredients and shortening. Then add warm water mix well until smooth. The water needs to be very warm close to hot, but you should be able to put your finger in it with out burning yourself. Gradually add the rest of the flour until stiff. Pour on to the counter and knead for 10 minutes until dough is smooth (may have a glossy look to it). Put into a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise until double. About 1 hour.
Hamburger Buns
To shape into hamburger buns, make about 20, golf ball sized balls of dough, place on a cookie sheet and flatten with the palm of your hand, let rise until desired size. Bake in a 350-375 degree oven until golden brown.Cabbage Burgers
Roll dough out flat until about ¼ inch thick. Cut into squares. Place your meat mixture in the middle, pull up corners, pinch together edges, turn over on to cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven until golden brown.Cinnamon Rolls
Roll dough out flat until about ¼ inch thick. Spread with margarine or butter. Sprinkle liberally with cinnamon. Sprinkle with brown sugar and some white sugar. Roll tightly, cut the roll into 1 inch sections. Spread a cake pan with margarine and sprinkled with brown sugar, place rolls in cake pan and bake in a 350 -375 degree oven until golden brown. For an extra special sweetness, pour one can of sweeten condensed milk over the baked rolls, place in the oven for 5 minutes more until bubbly. Now you have yourself some delicious gooey cinnamon rolls. The grandkids will love them!Description: “MAY BE USED FOR rolls, cinnamon rolls, bread, or bread for cabbage burgers.”
